How it all began

OUR STORY

Mike and Jose found their partnership in the fresh produce business under rather unique circumstances. Having grown up together in the Orlando area, both found themselves fresh out of college with business degrees entering the American work force in the midst of a large recession. After several years at the grind, Mike at a finance firm and Jose at an accounting firm, an opportunity arose to learn about an entirely new industry – produce. After a few years of learning the ropes and developing contacts Mike and Jose developed the concept of Fresh-Pro, a produce grower, shipper and brokerage with a niche in one of Florida’s most prolific crops – watermelon.
